So many people have asked me how I got off the Prednisone and although this chart does not address the later years of the descent (1999-2006), it gives you a good idea how just how tricky, treacherous, seemingly-impossible and totally exhausting the pursuit is.
This chart also shows how the 13 chemotherapy treatments and the resulting bi-lateral, profound hearing loss (deaf) wove through the prednisone ascent/descent syndrome:

I DID manage to wean totally off the prednisone by May of 2006, but all those later records are in ledger books.
The words Patience and Perseverance get whole new meanings for us – what a roller coaster of a NIGHTMARE!!!!
But, on the same note, for those of us challenged with a chronic illness, a critical illness that calls for prednisone, it’s a life-saving tool.
…double-edged sword!
